Rolldown Screens
Retractable screens provide insect control for windows and door openings, patios, porches, lanais or garages. They, in effect, are an inexpensive method of increasing the usable space in a home. There are several other features inherent in these screen systems:

Screen systems come in many varieties of vertical and horizontal retraction including single roll and double roll typically used in doorways (screen material retracts from two vertical shafts mounted the side jams of the opening and fastens in the middle). They can be mounted to the inside or outside frame (or surface mounted outside of the frame) to accommodate in-swinging doors, out-swinging doors, double French doors, or sliding patio doors. |

Systems are available to fix any standard sized door or window. Some systems can span opening up to 18' wide and 16' high making them suitable for large patios or garage door openings. Retractable screens are operated by several options including manual cord control, crank control or motorized switch. |

Retractable screen framework including guide bars and rails are typically made from extruded aluminum, which is powder coated in various colors. The nylon components should be made from high impact UL-Rated material to ensure the highest quality. Stainless steel springs and fasteners are preferable in coastal regions. Hydraulic or mechanical “speed-reducers” eliminate the noise and potential pinch of spring-loaded screen retractions or even allow the screen to be opened to any position. |
